Induction cooktops can be confusing to troubleshoot because problems that look like appliance failures are often not. Here are the most common induction problems we see in Colorado Springs homes.
The Zone Heats Nothing: Check the Cookware First
Induction only works with magnetic cookware. Test with a magnet. If it sticks to the bottom of the pan, the pan will work. If not, the pan is the problem, not the cooktop.
The Cooktop Shows E Error Codes
These usually mean the internal sensors have detected overheating or a fault. Try turning the cooktop off at the breaker for 30 seconds. If they return, a component has failed. See our full stove error code reference.
One Zone Works but Others Don’t
If one or more zones heat normally but others do not, the coil or board section controlling those zones has failed. See our induction stove repair service in Colorado Springs.
The Fan Runs Constantly
At Colorado Springs altitude of 6,035 feet, cooling is slightly less efficient. A fan that runs longer after cooking is normal. A grinding or rattling fan needs repair before debris gets into the electronics below.
Surface Damage
A cracked induction surface is a safety issue. Read our guide on glass cooktop crack: repair or replace. Call Stove Works at (719) 467-3100.
